The best HP business laptop at the moment is the Elite Dragonfly G3 (see below). However, its price is high. So if you don't want 4K resolution or absolutely top-notch hardware, the HP EliteBook 840 G9 is a great deal.

Thanks to the laptop's powerful Intel Core i7 CPU, everything runs fast and performed well in our benchmark test. The 14-inch display's 162 PPI pixel density is more than enough for everyday photo editing and digital art creation. The larger 3:2 aspect display on this tiny 13.5-inch form factor is something we like. The small design and excellent connectivity including USB4, USB-A and full-size HDMI are both advantages.

The 12th Gen Intel CPU is well-specced too, with a big battery that lasts surprisingly long for this class of device and much better connectivity than you'd expect given its ultra-thin chassis.

The fingerprint scanner for entering Windows is one of those little unnecessary features; some people find it gimmicky, others might think it's a nice security enhancement. In addition, the keyboard is quite pleasant to use. The cost is high and performance is slow at times. But overall, this is a really good option for a professional laptop. We don't yet know when the G2023 will be released, although it was unveiled at CES 4.

HP ZBook Firefly G9 comes with HP's Wolf Security, a tremendous help for professionals who care about protecting their work. It also has practical features like a fingerprint scanner, a physical webcam cover and an integrated Tile feature that allows you to locate your device in case it gets lost. The only significant drawback we found during our experiments was that the fan could kick in earlier and more frequently than intended.

The HP Omen 17 is a gaming laptop through and through, and you know what that means: in addition to eating the most demanding design programs live, it will perfectly handle the latest games in maximum detail and with as many frames per second as you want.

While the base configuration isn't exactly cheap, it has the GeForce RTX 3070 for mobile installed inside, making it a capable graphics performer. However, you can spend a lot more on a machine with an additional 16 GB of RAM and the top-end RTX 3080, which will allow you to comfortably outperform a typical desktop PC.

The HP Chromebook x2 11 is a Chromebook designed to convince you that Chrome OS has a place in your life. Its dazzling edge-to-edge glass finish feels elegant in your hands, and its 11-inch screen is the perfect size for viewing on the go.
