With one of the best laptops for blogging, you can conveniently update your website from anywhere. One of the laptops on our list should be all you need to keep the content coming, whether you currently have your own blog or are thinking of starting one.

Blogs are not as common as they once were in the age of social media updates, but they still exist. Our guide to the best free blogging platforms can help you find the best solutions for getting your own blog site up and running. Having your own blog is a great and quick way to publish short articles and entries, and requires a lot less work than a full-blown bespoke website (not to mention it's cheaper).

While it's easy to maintain your blog from a desktop computer, phone or tablet, if you're serious about making a living blogging, buying a laptop just for blogging is undoubtedly beneficial. The laptops we introduce here have comfortable keyboards that make it easy to create long entries, so you can update your blog anytime and anywhere. They also have thin, lightweight designs and long battery life.

  • Even though the previous MacBook Air (M1, 2020) has been replaced by the MacBook Air (M2, 2022), it's a great option if you're an Apple enthusiast looking for a small and light laptop for blogging. Simply put, it's one of the best laptops Apple has ever produced, and even if its specs are excessive just for blogging, it's perfect now that it's cheaper (the M2 will be too powerful for your blogging needs).

Thanks to its M1 processor, it can run any office or blogging app with ease, including iOS apps, plus it has a nice design and a great keyboard. Incredible battery life means you can take it with you wherever you go without worrying about plugging it in.

A Chromebook is a better option if all you want to do is blog, but this laptop can do so much more, so if you want something to help you not only blog but also run Photoshop to edit your photos before you add them to a blog post, this is the machine to buy. Although it is expensive, it really does offer excellent value for money when compared to other Apple products.

Acer has additionally loaded it with some excellent components to compete with much more expensive laptops. It is also powerful enough for blogging. Most importantly, you can type for hours if you want to, thanks to its excellent keyboard and comfortable surface.

  • A very stylish Chromebook
  • Reasons To Avoid
  • Lacklustre speakers
  • Have to pay for better graphics
  • Chromebooks are great machines for blogging and have advanced significantly in recent years. So it seems to reason that one of our favorite Chromebooks is at the top of the list of the best laptops for blogging.

We believe the Acer Chromebook Vero 514 is perfect for blogging because it only needs an internet connection and a good keyboard. The fact that it is, as our reviewer put it, "the most stylish and interestingly designed Chromebook I've used" is a great place to start. Recycled materials were used in its construction. If blogging is your only concern, its two shortcomings (having to spend extra for a better graphics solution and only good speakers) shouldn't be a problem. It has excellent speed and performance.

It offers excellent value for money, has many attractive ports, is very light (as it is made entirely from recycled plastic and has no metal parts) and has long-lasting batteries.

Surface Laptop 4 - A great premium laptop for blogging

    Surface Laptop 4

A great premium laptop for blogging
  • CPU: Up to Intel Core i7
  • Graphics: Intel Iris Xe

  • Storage: 256GB – 1TB
  • Reasons To Buy
  • Beautiful screen
  • Comfortable keyboard
  • Reasons To Avoid
  • Not enough ports
  • The Surface Laptop 4 is one of the most luxurious, stylish and comfortable computers for blogging, so it's worth the money. It has a gorgeous screen, a great keyboard and a long battery life that allows you to blog comfortably for hours.

But it's also really stylish, with a light and thin chassis and a fabric cover that sets it apart from the competition. This laptop is a joy to use. It runs Windows 10 flawlessly, as you would expect from a Microsoft product. Anyone who wants a bit of flair and finesse in their laptop will certainly enjoy this, but those looking for a laptop just for blogging might be better off looking elsewhere. For more information, see our Surface Laptop 4 review.

Microsoft Surface Pro 7 - For the ultimate portablility

  • Storage: 128GB - 1TB
  • Reasons To Buy
  • Stylish
  • Very thin and light design
  • Reasons To Avoid
  • Pricey
  • The Surface Pro 7 deserves to be added to this list despite being a Windows 10-powered tablet rather than a laptop. It can compete with traditional laptops because it has more powerful components than those found in most tablets.

Also available for purchase is a keyboard cover that, when attached, effectively turns the Surface Pro 7 into a laptop. Even better, it is among the smallest and lightest devices on the list, making it an excellent choice for frequent travelers.

Therefore, given that you can easily take it with you wherever you go, this could be an ideal device for travel blogging. You shouldn't use the touchscreen to write long blog articles, so we highly recommend getting a typing Cover or another Bluetooth enabled keyboard.

    HP Elitebook 840 G9

Excellent battery life and a powerful processor

  • Screen: 14-inch

  • Dimensions: 31.56 x 22.4 x 1.92cm
  • Reasons To Buy
  • Bright, tall screen
  • Excellent battery life
  • Reasons To Avoid
  • Speakers not amazing
  • The HP Elitebook 840 G9 has good battery life and decent graphics, making it a great laptop for blogging. It has a slightly taller screen with a 16:10 aspect ratio for extended use, a larger than usual touchpad and a comfortable keyboard. There's also a fingerprint reader for added security and a camera that supports Windows Hello. When evaluating the HP Elitebook 840 G9, we found that it ran Photoshop with ease and did well in all our benchmark tests. Overall, we thought it was a capable device that we would highly recommend for bloggers.

Microsoft Surface Laptop Go 2 - A compact laptop that's ideal for writing

    Microsoft Surface Laptop Go 2

A compact laptop that's ideal for writing
  • CPU: Intel Core i5 (11th gen)
  • Graphics: Intel Iris XeRAM: Intel Iris XeRAM: 4GB – 16GB
  • Screen: 12.4” PixelSense Display, 1536 x 1024
  • Storage: 128GB or 256GB SSD
  • Dimensions: 10.95 x 8.12 x 0.62 inches (27.82 x 20.62 x 1.57 cm; W x D x H)
  • Reasons To Buy
  • Fast
  • Light and portable
  • Good touchscreen
  • Reasons To Avoid
  • No HDMI out
  • Low resolution screen
  • Due to the slightly low resolution of the Microsoft Surface Laptop Go 2's 1536 x 1024 screen, you wouldn't buy it for any professional design work. However, it is a terrific (and very affordable) alternative as a small and portable laptop for blogging or writing in general, with some light admin and web browsing thrown in.

The Microsoft Surface Laptop Go 2 has a sturdy aluminum and polycarbonate body that can withstand the rigors of being tossed in a bag and carried around for most of the day, although we found the screen to be a hindrance to visual creativity in our review. The quality and comfortable action of the keyboard also caught our attention, and the fast fingerprint scanner is a great addition.

While its speakers are good for its size and its 3:2 display makes it less than ideal for watching movies, it only has three ports: a USB-A, a USB-C and a headphone jack. Pricing is reasonable for a small business machine, but we'd recommend paying another £100 to upgrade to 8GB of RAM, which will significantly boost performance.

Acer Chromebook R11 - A great cheap laptop for blogging

    Acer Chromebook R11

A great cheap laptop for blogging

  • Screen: 11.6-inch 1,366 x 768 HD IPS touchscreen
  • Storage: 32GB
  • Reasons To Buy
  • Very cheap
  • Good battery life
  • Reasons To Avoid
  • Awkward trackpad
  • For bloggers on a tight budget, the Acer Chromebook R11 is the perfect laptop. Like other Chromebooks, it runs Chrome OS with a variety of capabilities for online writing. The best part is that Chromebooks like the Acer Chromebook R11 don't need powerful components to work properly because Chrome OS is simpler to use than Windows 10.

As a result, the price stays low because the hardware uses less energy and the battery life is greatly increased. For this reason, the Acer Chromebook R11 is ideal for travel bloggers who are constantly on the go because you can use it throughout the day without having to recharge your battery. Plus, it's thin and light enough to fit in your luggage without giving you any hassle.
